  • Gheleb Secondary School (Gheleb)
  • Asmat Secondary School (Asmat)
  • Agordat Hospital (Aqordat)

This has been achieved through a network of volunteers, supporters and partners in the UK.

A major achievement has been our success at advocating on behalf of the Anseba region to established overseas development charities:

  • The British Council (Eritrean Desk)
  • Book Aid International
  • LabAid Trust
  • School-Aid Trust
  • Workaid Trust
  • British Executive Service Overseas (BESO)
  • Voluntary Services Overseas (VSO)
  • Numerous Schools, Colleges and Universities in the UK

In partnership with BESO, Anseba Development has sent consultants with expertise in water engineering, town planning and economic development to work with local experts in Anseba. As a result of the resources and knowledge available from Anseba Development a desk has been established within BESO to enable a consistent and informed provision of executive expertise to be available to those in the Anseba region working on infrastructure developments.

Anseba Development has established an advisory group within the Anseba region whose extensive knowledge and networks can inform our priorities. The members of this advisory group include the Head of Water Resource department for the Anseba region; the Directors of the Hamelmalo and Hagaz Agro-Technical School; and the Educational Project Development Director for the De la Salle Order in Eritrea.

Anseba Development has developed its organisational procedures and policies in order to ensure that all aspects of its governance and administration are in accordance with charity and company law.

A modest donor base has been achieved including regular giving via standing order.

A network of volunteers locates and collects books and educational materials and equipment. Sorting, labelling and packing is also undertaken by volunteers. Storage space is provided free of charge by supporters of our work.

We are in a process of sending another consignment of 20 ft container. It will consist of well above 25, 000 books, laboratory equipments, sewing and knitting machines, wheel chair and some horticultural tools.
